This monument has caused many disputes and battles have not ceased to this day. Originally the monument was planned to put on the viewing platform on Sparrow Hills, but there were problems - this place belongs to the natural reserve Sparrow Hills, But that's not the point. If you recall the story, something about this place almost 200 years ago it was planned to build the Temple of Christ the Savior, but, as now, the problem was not allowed to build a church in this place. The main problem has now become unfavorable geological situation - risk of landslides.

About the controversy surrounding the monument

The main argument of opponents of the construction of the monument on the square was Borovitskaya, that the monument violates the integrity of the architectural ensemble of the Kremlin. As for the height of the walls and towers of the Kremlin, who already have calculated and indicate, that the monument above the walls, and it's bad. It feels, that he, who leads this argument, or I have never been to this place, or just looking for another excuse.

Monument to Prince Vladimir, Again, in my opinion, It can not prevail over the Kremlin and a feeling, that "the monument and the Kremlin separately separately" and they are not connected to each other. Probably, as claimed by historians, repression in Novgorod were associated not so much with matters of faith, but with the political situation of that time. Novgorod was the second largest city in Russia and it came from Novgorod Rurik, and Vladimir himself began his career in the great reign, like his son Yaroslav the Wise, like Alexander Nevsky.
