I.e, food demand Photo. First of all demand high-quality picture. And here there are nuances. What kind? More detail in the following materials will tell - that decided to dedicate several articles namely food photos. At all, I am the god ordered to do exactly this genre. After all 30 Years ago, I was a cook, true army, but nevertheless prepare ability and desire to remain. So I cook often, and when it is not lazy and rented.
I want to say, that from what I post, nearly 30 percent, of total sales, this is food photos.
I can not say, that my pictures have high artistic merit. Since this direction seriously I started not so long ago, the food in my portfolio photo a lot of experiments with the treatment, and toning compositions alignment.
I even watched one time lessons on food photography, but such materials are not so many and basically one main message - the food should be visible to the details and to see a snapshot of a person, I wanted to eat. How do you achieve this is irrelevant. Now I look mostly professional chefs – they and the food is excellent and the picture delicious.
As I take my food photos
When taking food, I use 2 core shooting method:
- Shot with natural light;
- Shooting with a pulsed light source (outbreaks)
Each method has different variants - light scheme. This is a private conversation, but it is actually quite simple to understand (but not on the technique). Various light schemes are used to make focus on a particular cell or on the total composition.
Immediately I must say, that looks the most natural food when shooting with natural light, but such a picture is not suitable for all variants of shooting food.
For example by "clipping" is better still to use a flash.
Professional photographers often use sources of constant artificial light, but do not think that this is normal bulbs - no of course. This is a very high-quality and expensive production of light systems Dedolight or similar kits, which give the exact temperature of the light. With such systems easier to just "look design pictures with glare and light accents", but such systems are expensive light.
I use 2 or 3 flares and reflectors, I want to say, that in most cases lack the 2 outbreaks, set against each other at a slight angle - Clamp.
But I repeat - the most natural looking images are obtained by using the light from the window. The truth of our reality a good light, you can wait for weeks, but you can always use a tripod and long exposure. In an extreme case, you can raise the ISO. Modern cameras are better at noise.
