greetings to all, who came to my site and today I want to tell you the most unpleasant news. I got into film photography. I swore, swore at you too. got carried away, bought some ancient cameras, fridge covered with foil, I shot something and I'm sitting so happy, joyful and admire the graininess and strange shades.
Yes, got sick. And so you can’t call amateur photographers completely healthy, and then there's the tape.
But no, not everything is so bad and I want to explain, why am i old, having modern and not very digital cameras, I decided to master film photography.
And I'll start with, that I will explain why film photography and why I need it.
by the way, if you are too lazy to read, then you can watch the video, where i tell, how did i get this life. And if you like the video format better, then be sure to subscribe to my channel. While YouTube has not been closed yet, I will post there, and duplicate them in Zen.
Who likes to read, I will continue:
First, it's interesting. A lot of people are filming, so I decided to try. How about film magic?, hipsters with lomographic soap dishes or watering cans of thousands for 300.
Second, I wanted to check, How are film shots different from digital ones?. There are differences, and these very differences from digital can really inspire you to take up film photography.
for example:

There is, of course, the nuances. If you are used to the quality of pictures, taken with modern cameras, and consider these pictures as the standard, then most likely the film is not for you. If no noise is more important to you, if you use the concepts of ringing sharpness, then most likely the film will disappoint you.
Third - how old cameras work and what they can give out. I wanted to personally check everything, what movie lovers are talking about. About the soul, about volume, about the magic of film and how technically film photography differs from digital. How important is the camera, lens or film type.
Fourth - the cost of film photography as a result in comparison with digital. As a result, the cost of a frame turned out from 15 to 60 rubles. That's a lot - you have to forget about continuous shooting.
So why do I need film photography?
If in general words and one phrase, then specifically I need a film to create content different from that, which is laid out in most cases. Now the competition is quite high and it is worth looking for at least something, what would differentiate your content from the same.
And then the film lived up to my expectations.. Can, of course, to tell, that photo editors allow you to simulate film, and even modern cameras have such presets. keyword mimic.
When shooting with a film camera, you do not need to imitate anything. This is especially noticeable in color photographs.. Film colors are really good - here is an example of photos taken on color film Kodak Vision 3.

It's a film strip, on which many even feature films were shot - For example, Dunkirk, Cloud Atlas, Jurassic World.
Even black and white pictures, made on film, very different from numbers..
For a long time it has been more important for me not to sharpen the pictures, and the plot, action, event and details, and all this film gives even in excess. Especially the nuances.
by the way, about sharpness. At all, most entertainment content, namely, to create such content, I plan to use film cameras, watch on phones and tablets. At this physical resolution, everything shot on film will be sharp. And in general with 35 mm negatives you can print photos in A3 size.
Such are:

So I bought a film camera and went to train. Need to say, what i thought, that everything will be much worse. I already filmed 6 series of photographs - mainly on black and white film, and shot one series in color. You can look at my YouTube channel and in Zena rollers – Moscow courtyards and Izmailovsky hotel complex.
by the way, I shot Izmailovo on Tasma - probably, the only manufacturer from the times of the USSR, which still produces something in more or less decent quantities.

As an appendix to the article, I want to present a series of photographs taken at the FED 3 and on such a film ILFORD PANF film
This is a walk from Metro Studencheskaya to Moscow City and further along Shevchenko Embankment.
I wanted to check how good Ilford is. well. I can tell, that the trip went well. I like it. Expensive, of course. 900 a plus 400 development with scanning. The frame turns out about 30 rubles. But I think, what is it worth.
Yes, and a little about the camera.
I am this time, as in most previous outings, I used FED-3. Great camera. My copy has been released 45 years ago. It's a rangefinder and I like it better, than the mirror Zenith E.

But here it's not about the way of sighting. More expensive Zeniths, probably, are good too. But for me, the ability to adjust the diopter in the viewfinder is important. FED has it, and I, with my eyesight, can adjust the viewfinder for myself. But, eg, Zenith E is not possible.
And me, when comparing cameras, I like FED more. But this is pure subjectivity..
From the realities – FED-3 hopeful and upright. That, that it does not have a light meter, then it is better. I have an old Leningrad 8, which still works great and does not lie. In extreme cases, you can use the application. FED lens Industry with diaphragm 2,8. Basically, this is a normal lens even by modern standards, although of course it is inferior to modern. The main thing is that with a very good quality, FED can be bought today for only a thousand rubles.. Only, if you decide to buy - buy better in stores, where the cameras check. On Avito you can buy a pig in a poke. Special, if you don't know much about old technology, like me, eg.
later, I will tell you more about the cameras, and about lenses, which I use, and now I propose to see, what I got. You will be able to evaluate the quality of the pictures - in my opinion they are quite worthy.
