I have long wanted to post a selection of photos of beach volleyball, which was made in 20 year. But every time something got in the way. Or maybe I lost my photo folder.. Although, here's how you can lose a folder on disk, if she didn't go anywhere? Some kind of mystic.
But here, time has appeared, and the folder is found. Hooray!!!!!!
The photos were taken completely by accident.. That day I was filming something on the beach and decided to walk the streets of Saratov. Descending from the bridge to the embankment, noticed, that there are some sporting events in front of the bridge. Football, volleyball and more.
I didn’t have much time and decided to shoot volleyball, because before that the competition itself had never seen. And here is such an opportunity. I did not really want to wait for the performance of several teams, but I watched one game completely and shot a couple of dozen frames. I had a lens 80-200, that for sports is not the best choice, but what was. Should have come closer, but I wanted to get a wider viewing angle - after all, I'm not a sports photographer and I don't know all the nuances of such shooting. More detailed photos would look spectacular, but what happened, it happened.
But worth noting, that Nikon D750 and an old screwdriver 80-200 did a great job in such dynamic conditions. Everything is sharp, catches moments, balls hang, sand flies and people fly. That's what I'm up to, what is the connection and 22 year works great and shoots. And then everyone just says, that mirrors are outdated, matrices old, Oh God, no backlight.
Of course, stupid to deny, that modern cameras shoot faster, but is it really that critical?, can be judged by photographs of certain events. A photo of a beach volleyball is a good example of this., what are the cameras, issued 7-8 years ago, adequately cope with the tasks. There is, of course, and nuances of shooting.
This selection of photos was taken in rather greenhouse conditions for a sporting event.. sunny day, which means, that you can shoot at short shutter speeds and do not bully ISO. All pictures were taken with ISO 100 and excerpts 1/500 - lucky.
Almost forgot to say. I left all the photos in color during processing.. I do not know why, but it seemed to me, that the black and white version in this case will be worse. If I had big plans, then, to focus on the action, it would be better to convert to bw, but here I didn’t like the general plans and the black and white version.
Well, actually the collection itself:
